We are offering a

Research Engineer Artificial Intelligence (m/f/d)

position within the research and development department of Animationsinstitut on a freelance basis,
starting 01.06.2025 or as soon as possible.

The Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg GmbH (FABW) is one of the most renowned educational institutions for film and media in Germany and also enjoys an excellent international reputation. Your tasks

  • Extension and improvement of the AnimHost application, see web: research.animationsinstitut.de/tracer
  • Implementation of additional Animation Generators
  • Ideas and suggestions to improve current workflow with Blender, VPET and Unity
  • Theoretical and practical involvement in global FABW AI strategy
  • Evaluation of tools and workflows
  • Your profile

  • Completed studies or several years of professional experience in media productions
  • Extensive knowledge in software development (C++, Qt, Python, Tensorflow), real-time/game technology and DCC applications
  • Experience in training and refining complex AI models
  • Basic knowledge with Character Rigs and 3D Animation workflows
  • Exceptional inter-personal skills, problem solving and development
  • Organizational talent, resilient, versatile and flexible, ability to work in a team
  • Very good knowledge of English
  • Valid work permit within the European Union
  • You have a sense of social responsibility and are open and sensitive to sustainability, diversity and equality
